The New Orleans Attacker Made Two Visits to the City in the Months Leading Up to New Year

The New Orleans attacker visited the city twice before New Year’s, using Meta smart glasses to film Bourbon Street and strategize his assault, as reported by FBI Special Agent in Charge Lyonel Myrthil. During a news conference, Myrthil revealed that the attacker rented a home in New Orleans from October 30 for several days, utilizing this time to record video while biking through the French Quarter. Although he wore the Meta smart glasses during the New Year’s attack, he did not activate them on that day. The glasses were discovered on him posthumously, indicating their significance in his planning process.
