Ilyas Abdul Rahman, seorang pengusaha rental mobil, tewas ditembak di Rest Area ...
Ilyas Abdul Rahman, a car rental entrepreneur, was shot dead at Rest Area KM 45 on the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road on January 2. The assailant was identified as a member of the Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) who was with a friend purchasing a stolen vehicle. Prior to the incident, Ilyas and his children reported their suspicions about the assailant’s possession of a firearm to the Cinangka Police, but their concerns were dismissed, and they were advised to recover the vehicle without police assistance. In response, Banten Police Chief Irjen Suyudi Ario Seto stated that he would take strict action against negligent police officers, potentially including the dismissal of the Cinangka Police Chief.
Cinangka Police Chief AKP Asep Iwan defended his team's actions, claiming they adhered to protocol by requiring vehicle ownership documentation before intervening. However, the incident has raised criticisms regarding the lack of police support in potentially dangerous situations. Following the shooting, three TNI AL members—Sertu AA, Sertu RA, and KLK BA—have been arrested for their involvement and will undergo military legal proceedings, as confirmed by Laksda Samista of Puspomal.
